No Fillers! – Review : Paula’s Choice RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum All Skin Types

Oh my fair maidens, would you accept my apologies for the lack of updates?

But no point to dwell on whiny sentiments of what could or couldn’t have, lets focus on what’s essential of key knowledge and exploration in your skincare and all the products in the market.

I have a slutty appetite when it comes to skincare.  My eyes are like a dominant predator that wouldn’t stop scanning for the next best thing, even though to the best of my knowledge, I am using what’s best.  And I’m pretty proud to say the products I use have been carefully screened through and are of quality products.  That said I’m also really lucky that the counter products just don’t gel with me.  I have tried and yes I have, but my skin protested against Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex and it’s CyberWhite Brilliant Cells in such unhealthy fashion, I just look like a kid with bad diets.  Now I really don’t agree with the jives about “if your skin gets pimplish, that means it’s working…” Bullshit.

A truly holistic product that passes all bench wouldn’t need to summon pimples, be it the phase does pass or not, a few hundred dollars products shouldn’t have triggered nasty side effects.  But that’s nothing to what I have a problem with, many products across the market have unwanted fillers, and endless combinations of silicones that’s just uncalled for in boosting your skin’s health.  I hate having a sugarcoated illusion of how smooth my skin is.  And a silicone smoothed out product that feels good on your fingertips may just mislead you into thinking “wow this product is so smooth it makes my face smooth too!”  I’m not too  much of an organic skincare fascist that bans all things unnatural, I accept the existence of parabens, glycols, silicones in the formulas.  But if a look across the ingredient lists just read endless versions of cancer causing ingredients, ingredients with no profound effects in caring your skin, well, buckle up and do better than that, and pete’s sake, be honest, it’s so sickening to have consumers thinking “this product is sooooo…. gooooood!!!”

With this notion it led me to this product a few months back, by Paula’s Choice.  It is a serum from it’s RESIST line, that boasts the package of Super Antioxidant ingredients.  Also I chose it for my combi/oily skin, cause very often rich and skin saving serums are always more suitable for dry skin.  Without further ado, lets have a quick look at the official product description :

“What makes this product unique? RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum utilizes an innovative blend of ingredients that research has proven aging skin needs to look younger and feel its healthy best. Stabilized Vitamin C plus potent antioxidants in a silky base join ingredients that repair damaged cells and rebuild skin’s protective barrier so it functions optimally. This state-of-the-art serum efficiently addresses multiple issues that cause skin to look wrinkled while reducing inflammation and the visible effects of sun damage. This product is 100% fragrance- and colorant-free. Who is this product for? RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum works great on all skin types concerned with reducing signs of aging. It is especially suitable for normal to dry or combination skin types. How should this product be used? RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum can be used once or twice daily, as desired. For best results, apply before or after Paula’s Choice RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer. At night, smooth a few drops onto skin after cleansing, toning (optional), and exfoliating. May be applied under or over moisturizer. For daytime, wear under a product with SPF 15 or greater. Works beautifully under makeup and is suitable for use around the eyes.”

The Ingredients

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone (silicone slip agents/suspending agents), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (stabilized vitamin C/antioxidant), Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 (cell-communicating ingredient), Ceramide 3 (skin-repairing ingredient), Tocotrienols, Tocopherols (vitamin E/antioxidants), Ubiquinone (coenzyme Q10/antioxidant), Thioctic Acid (alpha lipoic acid/antioxidant), Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin E/antioxidant), Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (stabilized vitamin C/antioxidant), Ferulic Acid, Caffeic Acid (antioxidants), Beta-Glucan (anti-irritant), Superoxide Dismutase (antioxidant), ), Epigallocatechin Gallate (green tea-derived antioxidant), Ergothioneine (mushroom-derived antioxidant), Glutathione (fruit-derived antioxidant), Xanthophyll (antioxidant pigment), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract (antioxidant), Glycerin (skin-identical ingredient), Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract (anti-inflammatory agent), Lupinus Albus Seed Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract (antioxidants), Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil (emollient), Phenoxyethanol (preservative).

The Decision

Now I said silicones are uncalled for.  And it was not reassuring seeing silicone as the 2nd top ingredient, but as long as it’s not a long list of combination of silicones that feed illusions to consumers, I’m okay with that.  Also with a bit of reading up on articles and up until a clinical data states Dimethicone is non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores, produce white/black heads) and is hypoallergenic.  Well that moment it had me sold.

You see for yourself how this serum is a powerhouse of all the goodies in skincare la-la land.  And it was priced at RM87.++ after 20% discount!  How could you say no to that?

Clicked, and it’s done.

The Experience

Well you can definitely feel the dimethicone as it is smooth, and a lil sticky too.  Like when you have the product in between your fingers and you break apart you’ll see silky strands getting separated.

I have been a good church boy saying my prayers using this product without substituting for any.  Yet again it is really the sole belief in the product claims, its listed ingredients that I count my faith on.  Because honestly, with serum packed with Super Antioxidants, which would be more suited for the defense against first sign of aging.  That means aging prevention in symptoms.  That means you use this knowing there are a bit of tell tale signs of aging, yet you are and don’t look old.  You consume powerhouse of antioxidants topically or orally to combat the first sign of aging, delaying the onset.

So there really isn’t any before/after drastic effect I can show you.  Unless there is a skin graft test that tests the level of active anti-oxidants and measure the active free radicals in epidermis.  Only then we can truly know, if these antioxidants have been absorbed and been functioning in my skin.

And that is why I use this vigorously because as it is more a long maintenance battle, hopefully these anti-oxidants keep the signs of aging at bay, for eternity.

Few things that I can point out are :

  • The texture is smooth yet sticky, it gets quickly absorbed into your skin.
  • It does not leave any grease feeling at all.
  • Does not provide any hydration.  If you’re looking for hydrating serum, keep hunting.
  • Ingredients are genuinely antioxidants.  Especially good for people with high level free radicals, eg. smokers.
  • It’s a genuine product at such a humble price!
  • 30ml only, but can go on for quite a while if you dispense the product appropriately.
  • okay lastly, again, it does not provide hydration.  Your skin doesn’t get extra hydration from it in winter.  It doesn’t sooth you down, charm you silly with hydration.

I”m very sleepy now.  So will do a lazy thing and steal pic.

Review : Biotherm WHITE D-TOX BB Cream

Finally, the quest for the ultimate BB cream is over, time to kiss goodbye.  This quest has required patience, many misses (wastage), precious money spent, and man, am I glad to declare it over.  “We are bringing our boys home,” says The President.

It took me 2 months of waiting to get my hands on this BB Cream, while there are Biotherm counters everywhere, but I had tried, and convinced of this BB Cream at a specific counter in one of my outstation travels.  The fact I have been in sales all my life, it’s a matter of principle that I reward the purchase to the one that convinced me.

These principles would soon be the death of me one day, sigh.

What draws me to this BB Cream is its oil-free formula.  As most BB creams can definitely punch in day long hydration, sun protection and skin tone evenness, it’s hard to see a BB cream claims itself to be OIL-FREE.  This BB Cream’s priced at RM140 for a mere 30ml, price is a lil steep I’d say.  Consider the fact that my work requires outdoor fieldwork and that I’d doubt if this RM140 would last over a month.

The Experience

I had taken an instant liking to this BB cream immediately and reaffirmed after purchasing it.  Why?  The oil control is amazing and unbelievable!  From 9am until 10pm I didn’t have shine on my face, I didn’t have the need the blot, I didn’t feel oily on my face, all under the challenges of hot humid weather.  I never had a foundation/face base that ever offers such excellent oil-control.  I did powder over it with my Shiseido Translucent Loose Powder but I find this loose powder’s oil-control ability a crying shame so I give the BB cream the full credit to my total shine-free face.  I’m sure oily-skin folks know what I’m talking about when throughout mid day you wipe your face with fingers/hands, in the effort of physically removing the layer of oil on the surface of your face.

There is a special technique required to apply this BB cream from Biotherm in order to achieve the most natural effect.  As I was taught, you are to pat the BB cream gently across the face.  I’ve yet to fully master this technique.  With given time… with given time.

The only problem I have is it’s too fair for my skin.  After careful examination, I find it carries pink undertone.  I experimented with different amounts and resulted the same.  It is glaringly obvious my face is a solid shade fairer than my neck, and I am usually light shade.  I mean, being the cheapskate that I am, this BB cream is just far too precious and expensive for me to liberally apply over my neck.  So yeah, how does a cheapskate do it?  I use my ZA True White Liquid Foundation on my neck.  Hah!  My secret joy of finding a discount!

The Verdict

  • Extremely good oil-control
  • Pink undertone, may not suit all skin tone despite your shades.
  • Pricey for only 30ml content.

The Conclusion

This seems to be the conclusion I have for every episode of my reviews.  if you don’t have oily-skin issue, you don’t have to resort to this unless you take a fancy in the shade.  The world of skincare seems tipped on the side of dry skin people.  If you have dry skin, many drug store brands offer fantastic and natural coverage whilst delivering moisture to your skin, e.g. Freshel BB Cream, Kate BB Gel Cream, and what not.  World is doing you a favour, dry skin peeps.

Review : Hada Labo ES Lotion (Sensitive Skin)

Alright guys, I still have a review pending, if I had not totally gone off track in my previous post.

Hada Labo ES Lotion - 170ml

Hada Labo ES Lotion – 170ml

**pics stolen from google**

Like I previously stated, I am way too late on the Hada Labo band wagon.  I did brush through the products briefly when they were first in the market but they were my mum’s, and I had terribly oily skin back then, so it wasn’t concrete enough of an experience.  Another time, I was outstation and was out of facial cleanser.  Hearing that Hada Labo was a good brand, I grabbed its cleanser in a smaller packing (before they had the AHA+BHA cleanser), and had breakouts after that.  My beautician told me that it wasn’t fit for me, and that was also the time I learnt that why people with oily skin should only use gel cleansers.

So that sums up all that I knew about Hada Labo, I know it works great for most people but I knew that I wasn’t a part of their targeted audience.  I had never looked that way since, at least not until their Firming + Lifting series came out, the red ones.  And then, this ES series came out.  I contemplated really hard on what to do, which to use, I’m in my late 20s and I should really go all out on anti-aging or aging prevention, yet again I have sensitive skin… blah blah… trust me, I thought harder and longer than when I had to take up a loan.

So upon learning that ES series had Zinc as a property, I made up my mind and went ahead with the ES series.  Because as a daily regime, I need that ZINC, and Zinc has oil-control properties.  So I thought my plan was brilliant!  Nano-Hyaluronic Acid + Zinc for daily usage, and Hada Labo Firming + Lifting Mask once a week!  I get the best of both!

The Ingredients

Hada Labo ES Lotion - The ingredients

Hada Labo ES Lotion – The ingredients

Well, upon reading the ingredients I got a bit skeptical seeing that both Hyaluronate compounds are listed as the least 2 ingredients, even though it’s been sold to be the key ingredient!  But after a bit of research I learnt that HA concentration is unworkable if it gets anything beyond 10%.  So that knowledge assured me that I wasn’t cheated by their marketing.

It is also –

  • fragrance free
  • colorant free
  • mineral oil free
  • preservatives free
  • Alcohol free

And unlike the rest of the Hada Labo series, this one is MADE IN JAPAN.  So if that matters to you, it would be a plus point.

The Experience

I grew to like the product more.  When I first started, especially it doesn’t come with a pump-head, the amount you pour out may not be meticulously correct, or as needed.  Sometimes you over pour, sometimes you get it right.  When I pour too much product, it gets really tacky, the face is sticky, the hands are sticky.  But once you have the amount adjusted each time, application is a sail.  Pat til absorbed, let it set in for a while, and follow up with your moisturizer.

So much so, I even apply it on my chronic severe dry skin on my legs!  Hah.  And it works! Remember the first boost of hydration to really thirsty skin I talked about?  It works by the laws of that theory!

The Conclusion

Oily Skin Folks – Some oily skin people are not too troubled with the oily skin, but some are battling it.  If you are battling it, this is not recommended for you.  Even with the Zinc property in it, it’s not enough for oil control.  But if you are not troubled yet have oily-super oily skin, you can use this at night in an air conditioned room.  The trick to test whether it’s suitable, is if you wake up with a layer of oil on your face and your pores dilated next day, or you have breakouts after that.  If any of those occurs, skip this, hand the product to your mom, or apply them on your legs 😛

Dry Skin Folks – Well, the dry skin folks would definitely have used or are using this.  I would suggest that you stick to the original Hada Labo Lotion as it has Super Hyaluronic Acid?  Twice the Hyaluronic Acid.  This ES series doesn’t have that claim.

Sensitive Skin Folks – Well, there you have it.  Go Grab it!

Parcels of Goodies! (part 1) Review : Avani Dead Sea Natural Mineral Body Scrub in Milk Honey

I must have forgotten, there was one fine day and merely just rushing my shit done in the office, I received a parcel in the morning and I went, “phew! Finally…”  The order was placed for nearly 2 months ago.  Then, when I was about to leave the office, the clerk handed me another parcel.

And boy, must it have been a good day!

And let the goodies unveil!

I can’t review all of the products all at once so Avani Dead Sea Cosmetics Natural Mineral Body Scrub in Milk HoneyI CHOOSE YOU.

Avani Dead Sea Cosmetics Natural Mineral Body Scrub in Milk Honey

Avani Dead Sea Cosmetics Natural Mineral Body Scrub in Milk Honey

It comes in a huge fat jar of ROCK SEA SALTS with CONCOCTIONS of all good and nourishing oil that is almost a guarantee to some form of longevity.  Check this.

Avani Dead Sea Cosmetics Natural Mineral Body Scrub in Milk Honey

Avani Dead Sea Cosmetics Natural Mineral Body Scrub in Milk Honey

*Reading the ingredients make me wanna take a tablespoon of it in the morning to keep my skin and immune system upbeat.

The Experience

As you can see, the sea salt is not infused with the oil, they are just incorporated in a jar.  The first time I used it, I almost gave it a 2/5.  One thing, I kinda had a nappy rash (oops!) on my bum and … really? salt on open wound?  Brilliant.

Upon opening the jar, my first concern was definitely that the oil will finish/dry up way before the sea salt does.  And I’ll tell you, these sea salts r like the size of… evil sharp crystals man!  So What am I gonna do when all the good and heavenly oil run out?  Cook with the sea salt?  Might as well I pan fry some dead sea fish with the nutritious oil and  season it with this dead sea sea salt.

And if you are the type that likes really clean and dry skin after shower, you will hate this product.  No shit.  Because, your skin is just infused with oil, you definitely don’t get that squeaky clean feel.  After shower, there are droplets of water on your skin, which is kinda a cool sight to look at.

But by my second use, I like it, heck, I enjoy it more now!  Somehow I grab a handful of ’em badass sounding sea salt (trying to squeeze as much oil out as possible) and start my scrubbing ritual.  And this time, probably without any open wound, the sea salt doesn’t feel rocky, and it actually melts!

So I scrub scrub and scrub… so much fun you can have on your own! 😛

Well, if you’ve been paying attention of my chronic severe dry skin with atopic dermatitis, I certainly don’t mind the sensation of oil infused in skin.  (Not like baby oil rubbed and layered on your skin, this actually penetrates into your skin.)

The Verdict

If you need and immediate dry skin relief due to pro-longed air conditioning or you need a winter rescue kit, this would be perfect for you.

For those who hate any form of oiliness and are used to harsh form wash to be considered a fresh-and-clean shower.  You would definitely want to take another shower.

More Reviews coming up soon on ’em products!  Stay tuned guys.

Dry Skin – To The Rescue! (Part 1) Mattifying Oil-Control Deep Pore Mask with OxygEnergy by Aviance.

I find myself really blessed to have friends who care!  I thought I was just whining away online about my chronic yet sudden acute dry skin, I didn’t mean to bother anybody.  But guess what?  I’ve been receiving care packages from friends 1 by 1!

Just this morning, dearest Lynn made her delivery boy 😛 send me something to salvage my skin problems.

First thing first, what happens when you’re on the road for 3 weeks straight?  Goodness, you need a thorough cleansing!  I’ve always had a jar of algae purifying mask stored in the fridge, which I use regularly for no less than 2-4 times a week, provided I’m not holed up in another hotel.

So I was given this sampler mask today, Mattifying Oil-Control Deep Pore Mask with OxygEnergy by Aviance.

Aviance Mattifying Oil-Control Deep Pore Mask with OxygEnergy

Aviance Mattifying Oil-Control Deep Pore Mask with OxygEnergy – 40g / RM115.00

How Does Aviance Mattifying Oil-Control Deep Pore Mask Work?

According to the catalogue:

“This delightfully refreshing, cleansing mask helps intensively remove impurities to reveal a clarified, shine-free and radiant complexion.  It has been formulated with purifying natural clay together with exclusive OxygEnergy which helps re-mineralize and revitalize the skin during use.  It leaves the skin naturally clarified, matte and absolutely revitalized.”

The Experience

Well, this might have been my mistake as I didn’t expect today to be a sunny day so the product was left my in car at its sunniest hours.  I’m not sure if that affected it.  Nonetheless the product is of a very thick texture, definitely not easy to spread.  But that also makes the fact that a very thin layer would suffice.

Aviance Mattifying Oil-Control Deep Pore Mask with OxygEnergy

The mask comes in the colour of cool mud green.

Doesn’t that remind you of wasabi?

The Mask comes with a practically sized spatula for hygiene purpose.

The Mask comes with a practically sized spatula for hygiene purpose.

As you can see, the products are beautifully packaged, another range of products that’s well thought out.

Although it appears to be the colour of “cool mud green”, upon application it is transparent entirely.  And with a thin layer applied, it would soon begin to harden and tighten.  Within minutes it would be so tight that breathing through the mouth isn’t a comfortable option, I am so down with the flu.  When I got up and looked at myself in the mirror I was literally SHOCKED.  Cause at that moment with the mask on, I had such a porcelain face, glossy and air brushed, the mannequin look.  I kinda wish I could wear this look all day, I could give up talking and just nod if I had to.  The tightening sensation was not bizarre to me as this type of mask is fairly common at salons.  I would even park this on the range of salon quality!

I set the timer to 20 minutes and I rinsed it off with water.  When mixed with water, it emulsifies.  I went back and checked myself in the mirror again, my face was RADIANT.  I kid you not, albeit it was a bit dry on the skin surface.  So I guess in that regards, it somewhat achieved the claim of “mattifying”.  But by goodness!  The radiance!

My friend, Lynn who owns this product says what’s most significant for her is the shrinkage of her pores, and if the wicked pimples suddenly bestow upon her flawless face, this would be the mask to her rescue.  The mask would dry up the blemishes whilst reducing the redness too.

The price is definitely on a higher end but given that it is a jar of 40g of merry goodness and each time you only need a thin layer, I would say it’s pretty worth the deal.  The most important thing is after you purchase it, you must use it regularly, especially useful when you come back from work and this mask with it’s specially trademarked technology OxygEnergy, it just helps your skin to breathe a little.

A Little Background on AVIANCE

I truly, truly love this brand.  So far the products I’ve purchased have never disappointed moi.  I am so head over heels for their Resilient Complex Ultimate Smoothing Double Caviar Eye Cream.  I’ll save this review for another day.  Anyway, have you heard of Unilever?  If not, you should have, because it’s ALL AROUND YOU!  Cause Unilever has been the motherfluffing boss of your everyday needs!  Brands like Rexona, Dove, Sunsilk, Breeze the detergent, to Lady’s Choice, Lipton, it’s all under the epic umbrella of Unilever.  That is why I have the absolute faith in their luxury line, Aviance.  Think of Unilever as the giant corporation that specializes in our every day needs with years of experience since the dawn of time.  Unilever no doubt has all the resources, research and development centres and infinite amount of data ever needed to create wonderful products, and brilliant marketing.  So there you have it, if we’ve been exposed to their everyday products by Unilever, it just gives me more reasons to be excited with Aviance.  The Resilient Complex Ultimate Smoothing Double Caviar Eye Cream was what turned my skepticism (like come on, you’re expensive, you know?) to a user that would stand by the brand.

–  Too much diarrhea, TL:DR.  This mask gives radiance finish, calms your redness and your blemishes, only it can be too dry on the skin surface, so follow-up moisturizing regime is necessary.

That is all.

Hello Beauties,

It’s about time that I bring you this post on THE BEST MASK!

Having missed the whole hype during its initial launch (many years ago), I only finally tried this Collagen Crystal Facial Mask sometime this year.  I was traveling when I bought this, after a customer commented on how old I’ve looked after a year.

And that incidence, it shone a light on the journey of masks, and emergency facial rescue.

This mask has truly stood out, in the pool of non-saloon masks.

So What Is A Collagen Crystal Facial Mask?

Collagen Crystal Facial Mask

Collagen Crystal Facial Mask

If you’re not familiar with what a crystal mask is, it is unlike a sheet mask, it has a jelly/gel like texture.  Instead of drying up like a sheet mask, crystal mask melts its essence into your skin from your natural body heat.  This crystal mask, makes some hefty claims to its benefits, and  the best thing is, it does deliver.

How Collagen Crystal Mask looks upon application.

After 30 minutes of application.

After 30 minutes of application.

You can see the mask has melted to your body heat, and your skin is moist and hydrated with the essence melted off the collagen crystal mask.

What Are The Benefits of A Collagen Crystal Facial Mask?

The back of the packaging lists down fine details of benefits, instructions and ingredients.

The back of the packaging lists down fine details of benefits, instructions and ingredients.

Based on the label, it claims to have effects on:

  • Whitening
  • Moisturising
  • Anti-Wrinkle
  • Oil-Control
  • Pore Reducing
  • Hydration

Ingredients Of A Collagen Crystal Facial Mask

This mask comes compact with some impressive ingredients.  Not a lot of preservatives like common sheet masks.  Here are the ingredients:

Aqua, Glycerin, Polyinyl Alcohol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Tartaricacid, Grape Seed Oil (vitis vinfera), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Tocophbryl Acetate (Vitamin E), BHT, Methylparaben, Fragaben, Fragrance, Phyto-Collagen, Aloe Vera, Green Tea Extract, Plum Extract

So How Good is The Crystal Collagen Facial Mask Really???

You can use this mask for 30 minutes long, or some choose to leave this overnight, for not more than 12 hours.  Whilst I’m not too used to sleeping with masks on, yet because the mask is so nutritious, I leave it on for 1 hour.

After 1 hour of application, freshly removed.

After 1 hour of application, freshly removed.

Here is the result of collagen crystal facial mask after 1 hour, freshly removed.  You can obviously tell the skin is so much more brightened, supple, and so hydrated!  Even when compared to a good sheet mask, the effect of brightening this collagen crystal mask achieves is much more capturing.  And you know what’s the REAL KEY BENEFIT?  The effects, they last for at least another day or two!  With sheet masks, the effects don’t carry forward to the next day, but this does!

Just last night I did it and this morning I woke up to a fantastic fair and even face, brightened up, all my fatigues washed away.

Collagen Crystal Facial Mask is also suitable for all skin types!

I have let a couple of friends try it and all come back with news of superior results.  Because of it’s formula, your skin is able to breathe as it doesn’t have any waxy substance suffocating your faces and masking your pores, all it does is just juicy substance slowly absorbed by your skin, hence it’s suitable for any skin type, even for acne prone skin.  Unless you are specifically allergic to the ingredients listed.

This is literally my Holy Grail of masks.  When I’m late for my facial appointment, this suffices to delay my appointments for another week.  Also with this mask, my skin just glows the next day, I tend to skip any foundation and just let the natural glowing face be beautiful on it’s own.

I like it so much, not only I bought just 1 but all the variations for specific purposes!

The Complete Cleansing Ritual

It’s always good to be back home.  Especially when my disappearance from home is about a week, always.  And when I’m back, I would inaugurate a whole seek and destroy regime to make sure

Palmolive Naturals Invigorating Liquid Hand Wash 250ml

Palmolive Naturals Invigorating Liquid Hand Wash 250ml

I first wash my hands well and thoroughly for >30seconds or more.  Any soap dispenser would do.  I don’t believe in the anti bacterial sanitizing shit.  Good ol’ proper OCD procedure to get your hands, CLEANSED.

Bio-Essence Cleansing Milk & L'oreal Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

Bio-Essence Cleansing Milk & L’oreal Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

Only when the hands are clean enough to touch the face, then the proper facial cleansing regime begins.  I start with an L’oreal Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover to remove my mascara.   I am using L’oreal cause I am trying to help my mom finish that tiny winy bit of it left.  I then used Bio-Essence to remove the makeup on my face.  1 cotton pad, 2 cotton pad, still not enough.  Well I guess we need a higher being in charge from here.

The Holy Trio.

The Holy Trio.

Hada Labo Cleansing Oil

Hada Labo Cleansing Oil

Cleansing Oil is the most effective way of getting rid of all traces of makeup.  So I called in the God of High Heavens.  I rinsed my face first to get rid of the traces of the milk cleanser n what not.  Toweled my face dry, I then rubbed 2 pumps of it and generously apply all over my face, rubbing the product across my face over and over again.  Until I felt my palm warming up a lil bit and that’s when I know it’s pretty much done, I rinse it off thoroughly with water, while again with a little bit of rubbing motion to make sure all unwanted excess are out of the way, out of my face!

Arrahan Lavendar Aroma Peeling Gel

Arrahan Lavendar Aroma Peeling Gel

Towel-patted my face dry, now I moved on to Peeling Gel.  For those with Sensitive skin, please do not use it more than once a week.  Twice a week for normal skin.  Sorry, I just have to stress this cause the face is oh so gloriously brightened you just can’t help and wished you could do this every 1hr!

Technique is important too.  ONLY USE LAST 3 OF YOUR FINGERS to rub the product across the face, put enough pressure just to keep it going.  Focus on the areas where you notice more debris (dead skins) are coming off, rubbing gently in circular motion, alternate with zig-zag motion at rougher patches.  Whole process should NOT last more than 2 minutes.  2 min TOPS, MAX, STOP.

After that, rinse, everything off, and you’ll notice how much “thinner” your skin gets and how much brightened your face is.  Of course, there will be bound to be areas where there’s bits of redness due to your sensitivity.  But fear not, after the whole regime is done, use some anti-sensitivity serum or calming agent to apply it, it will be fine after that.

Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser (combination to oily)

Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser (combination to oily)

Lastly, My Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser – for combi/oily skin.  The gel texture is always so cooling and smooth and it has really gentle almost melt-able microbeads in it.  I use this as my final wash to wash off all traces of everything left, chemicals left from peeling gel, and what not.

So That’s it.  I would then proceed on with my usual regime of serum-essence-night cream-sleeping mask.

And the next day, I would wake up, wash my face clean, and apply my Algae Purifying Mask that I keep in the fridge, for 30 minutes.  With that night, my favourite Q10+Royal Jelly Double Lifting Mask follows through to hush at my face and goes… “it’s alright now… we are good now… your face is stripped clean and rejuvenated now…”

And my soul, is purified.
