Dry Skin – To The Rescue (Part 3) – Kinerase

Finally, the epic trilogy to my Dry Skin condition has come to an end… or has it?

Again, that very week when I was held hostage in the hotel room, and my stupid idea of “packing light” meant I had no additional products to help me relieve of the ugly coarse dry skin.

But at The Lord’s mercy, a sweet lady, Ms. Susan, gave me some samples of Kinerase, which I kid you not, it’s been so raved about by other friends.

Kinerase Sample Set

This Kinerase sample set comprises of 4 key components to their skincare regime, which are :

  • L-Ascorbic Acid – delivers more Vitamin C for radiant skin.
  • Green Tea Extract and Vitamin E – powerful antioxidants to protect against free radical damage to skin.
  • Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, fragrance-free and dye-free.

The Experience

Truly, THANK GOD, this came at the best timing when I was going through the whole acute dry skin crisis.  When usually I avoid at all cost to use additional product that’s in the form of cream texture, but I embraced Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment in conjunction with it’s Kinerase Cream.  Heck, I even used Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment in the morning, bear in mind that it’s cream textured, and I would be heading out in the sun and all.  I love serum, essence and all those because it provides additional nutritions and benefits and penetrates beyond dermis.  But with this C6 Peptide, I didn’t care, cause I know I am totally at the mercy of it to salvage my beautiful face. *ahem*

But honestly, I am not using them long enough to see all the claims and benefits as stated in their clinical studies.  Although, it did rescue my face that very instant.  The Daily Gentle Cleanser was even more gentle than Biotherm Aquasource gel-mousse cleanser.  The Kinerase Eye Cream is nice, but it’s in light cream formula.  My personal preference is heavy eye creams, but if you wanna avoid oil seeds building around your eyes, light cream formula is the way to go.

The Conclusion

What’s so special about Kinerase though?  First off, again it is a medical grade skincare which is only available through prescriptions, clinics and specialists.  C6 Peptide, in short, creates a botox effect (most layman’s term possible).  Hence this is extremely suitable for post-cosmetic surgery skincare regime.  Also possibly one of the best anti-aging product in the market.

I would advice that you go ahead and try it out if you think you wanna step up your skincare game play.  They certainly don’t come cheap, but when it really works, it’s really worth it.

I’m gonna wait til I finish up my current loads of skincare and probably switch to Kinerase series, provided I don’t get astray and buy every online product I bump across online.

Dang, these things, draw me like a cat to katnip.

Oh!  For more information on Kinetin (just what the fluff is that?)  Do check out this website for a thorough understanding.  Cheers Y’all!

The Complete Cleansing Ritual

It’s always good to be back home.  Especially when my disappearance from home is about a week, always.  And when I’m back, I would inaugurate a whole seek and destroy regime to make sure I.am.CLEANSED.

Palmolive Naturals Invigorating Liquid Hand Wash 250ml

Palmolive Naturals Invigorating Liquid Hand Wash 250ml

I first wash my hands well and thoroughly for >30seconds or more.  Any soap dispenser would do.  I don’t believe in the anti bacterial sanitizing shit.  Good ol’ proper OCD procedure to get your hands, CLEANSED.

Bio-Essence Cleansing Milk & L'oreal Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

Bio-Essence Cleansing Milk & L’oreal Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

Only when the hands are clean enough to touch the face, then the proper facial cleansing regime begins.  I start with an L’oreal Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover to remove my mascara.   I am using L’oreal cause I am trying to help my mom finish that tiny winy bit of it left.  I then used Bio-Essence to remove the makeup on my face.  1 cotton pad, 2 cotton pad, still not enough.  Well I guess we need a higher being in charge from here.

The Holy Trio.

The Holy Trio.

Hada Labo Cleansing Oil

Hada Labo Cleansing Oil

Cleansing Oil is the most effective way of getting rid of all traces of makeup.  So I called in the God of High Heavens.  I rinsed my face first to get rid of the traces of the milk cleanser n what not.  Toweled my face dry, I then rubbed 2 pumps of it and generously apply all over my face, rubbing the product across my face over and over again.  Until I felt my palm warming up a lil bit and that’s when I know it’s pretty much done, I rinse it off thoroughly with water, while again with a little bit of rubbing motion to make sure all unwanted excess are out of the way, out of my face!

Arrahan Lavendar Aroma Peeling Gel

Arrahan Lavendar Aroma Peeling Gel

Towel-patted my face dry, now I moved on to Peeling Gel.  For those with Sensitive skin, please do not use it more than once a week.  Twice a week for normal skin.  Sorry, I just have to stress this cause the face is oh so gloriously brightened you just can’t help and wished you could do this every 1hr!

Technique is important too.  ONLY USE LAST 3 OF YOUR FINGERS to rub the product across the face, put enough pressure just to keep it going.  Focus on the areas where you notice more debris (dead skins) are coming off, rubbing gently in circular motion, alternate with zig-zag motion at rougher patches.  Whole process should NOT last more than 2 minutes.  2 min TOPS, MAX, STOP.

After that, rinse, everything off, and you’ll notice how much “thinner” your skin gets and how much brightened your face is.  Of course, there will be bound to be areas where there’s bits of redness due to your sensitivity.  But fear not, after the whole regime is done, use some anti-sensitivity serum or calming agent to apply it, it will be fine after that.

Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser (combination to oily)

Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser (combination to oily)

Lastly, My Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser – for combi/oily skin.  The gel texture is always so cooling and smooth and it has really gentle almost melt-able microbeads in it.  I use this as my final wash to wash off all traces of everything left, chemicals left from peeling gel, and what not.

So That’s it.  I would then proceed on with my usual regime of serum-essence-night cream-sleeping mask.

And the next day, I would wake up, wash my face clean, and apply my Algae Purifying Mask that I keep in the fridge, for 30 minutes.  With that night, my favourite Q10+Royal Jelly Double Lifting Mask follows through to hush at my face and goes… “it’s alright now… we are good now… your face is stripped clean and rejuvenated now…”

And my soul, is purified.

KAWAII OF THE MONTH! – FREEPLUS Skin Care Powder Wash (Oil Control)

I’m grateful my sister is such a shopper, I can try many things I wouldn’t usually buy.  And we both have similiar skin types, so that works out!  *2 thumbs*

FREEPLUS SKINCARE Powder Wash – Oil Control

Check out this cutie, will ya?  Can it get any cuter????  I’m all bubbly inside!

k~a~w~a~i~i

The facial wash comes in what’s the word for miniature containers?  Oh, smurfy containers!  And it’s not in liquid form, it’s in powder form!  So adorably gimmicky.  LOL.

The first time I opened it I mistakenly dished out the whole content of powder which proved to be… too much.  It was enough to lather over the whole upper part of my body (size may vary, heh).  A small, smurfy container like this can go up to 2-3 wash.

Power Packed Powder. Triple P, hah.

1/4 of content in my hand.

mixed with water and lather, the other 1/2 of foam is on the hand holding the cam.

Other than being all kawaii and being really gentle (the foam dies off rather quickly than liquid cleanser), what else is it good for?  Hmm…

  1. it is definitely useful when you’re boarding international flights.  That’s the biggest advantage.  If you find yourself on multiple long hours connecting flights, this would definitely prove useful.  You just have to explain really carefully to the securities what those powders are… just don’t… snort it.
  2. Although it’s for oil control, it’s creamy and less harsh than liquid cleansers.  You can add water anytime if you find the foam lessening.  So gentle I feel like I can wash my eyes with it.  (disclaimer : my feelings are not always accurate)
  3. It can be a good spare that you chuck on the shelf.  Unless you have some form of obsession with being totally kawaii, I doubt this would totally replace your usual regime of conventional liquid cleanser.  So it’s a good spare you keep around for situations you find that liquid cleansers just aren’t available.

That concludes for now, ladies.

oh, Freeplus is a subline of Kanebo.  Just not in Malaysia.

Biotherm Purefect Skin and Skin Ergetic Series

Sometimes, I just hate it when the counter girls are right.

“Lady, you don’t sleep much, do you?”

No, I don’t, thank you for asking.

I’m fresh as a bird if I can get 4 hrs sleep, with a cuppa coffee in the morning… “sleep?  What’s that?”

But not the face.  It shows, it betrays my purported “I’m awake!  I’m awake!  I can do maths!” facade.

Well, either your sleeping habit follows a timezone on the other side of the world, or, you’re a successful but burnt out corporate rat (may you be successful in all your endeavors), the counter girl was right to let me try this series of Biotherm meant for LETHARGIC and FATIGUE skin (yes, those words are on the adverts).

Whole bundle of Biotherm Purefect Skin sachets were handed to me, “There, take it, use it… you need it,” she said.

Now if you’ve read item 2, on The Purposes We Serve, I particularly distrust cosmetic claims for the solutions to oily skin.  But feeling pretty badass and riding on the whole YOLO wave, (and plus, it’s really a whole lot of samples!) I went ahead and by now, I’ve tried it for 3 days, hence I’m confident enough to do a review now.  Why 3 days?  Cause my face is like a urine test strip, suitable or not, my skin reacts to allergies in 3 days, whatever product it is.  When I upgrade my derma’s OS, there may be a meter to your kidney’s function.  Okay, lame joke.

I was given Purefect Skin Series specifically targeted for combination/oily skin :

1) Purefect Skin Cleanser – It’s gel texture and it’s colourless.  Now, that is hyper-reassuring.  Remember, Sensitive/Oily face, stay away from any form of cleanser no matter what the claims to be, use only GEL FORMULA.  Sorry I haven’t got a picture taken.  But you can find the official information here.  RM95.00

2) Purefect Skin Toner – This toner reminds me of why I don’t use a toner.  I haven’t used a toner for 3 years.  Upon application it’s a strong whiff of alcohol.  I then read the ingredients and alcohol is listed as the 2nd ingredient after Aqua.  It disperses fairly quickly.  I guess that’s one of the downside of Oil-Control products, alcohol always seems to be a preferred ingredient.  No discomfort or tight tingling sensation after application though.  RM98.00

3) Skin Ergetic Concentrate Serum – This serum serves to combat fatigue, and claims to visibly reduce the appearance of tired looking skin.  And it’s whole lot of natural essence packed in 1 serum.  Read official site for more info.  As for me?  Gel form? No problemo.  RM195.00

serum in gel texture

4) Pureskin Hydrating Gel : I like this.  In fact I like the whole series.  I was told to use this as a day moisturiser.  Gel form, no greasy after feel.  Makeup application goes on fine after.  It’s a nice gel, and it’s a nice hydrating gel.  Read Here.  RM135.00

Light textured gel form, non-greasy but hydrating.

5) Aquasource Nuit High Density Hydrating Jelly for Night – OH I love this one!  It is really Jelly!  Like Gel-Jelly!  With cute translucent light blue-ish colour.  It gets absorbed quickly into the skin but leaves your skin really smooth.  Because of it’s high hydrating power, it’s used as a night cream and… suitable to all skin types.  That I can testify to.  This morning, I wished it was winter here so I could use it day and night.  It’s that nice.  Read Here.  RM180.00

Gel-Jelly texture

6) Skin Ergetic Eye Cream : It’s their latest launch if I’m not mistaken.  Anti Fatigue, packed with all the super power-charging nutritions and extracts.  Creamy texture, but gets absorbed quickly.  Patting my eyes half way in my OCD fashion and wham! it’s all absorbed and dried.  Read Here  RM160.00

Yellow Creamy Texture

Summary :

It’s passed my 3 days test.  While trying out this product I was suffering from funny breakouts as I had a trial of 3 days samples from Shiseido.  Biotherm did not add on to the funny allergic reactions, and the allergies went away pretty quickly.  Overall, it is a good line for combo/oily skin.  Specifically Skin Ergetic that targets really tired, really aged out face of mine.  I would recommend this to people who NEED this, cause the price is pretty steep.  But if you’ve tried all moderate range of products and they don’t seem to be working, this could be a good investment.

The cheapest financial option is to ignore all the skin problems, but requires the most expensive mental effort.

CHEERS!
